What FlipScout uses
FlipScout lets you submit item photos, an asking price, and an optional source such as a garage sale or thrift store. The service uses those details to provide a likely identification, estimated resale range, Flip Score, and Buy, Maybe, or Pass recommendation. Estimates are not guarantees.
Photos and scan data
Photos are prepared in your browser or app and sent for the requested analysis. In the current MVP, uploaded photos are used for the immediate analysis and are not saved as part of a scan record. If you choose to save a completed result while signed in, FlipScout stores the resulting valuation details, asking price, optional source, and share identifier with your account.
Account and product activity
If you create an account, FlipScout uses the account information needed to sign you in and associate saved scans with you. The app also uses product analytics to understand how the service is used and improve the experience. We do not describe additional data practices here beyond what is observable in the current product.
Sharing
When you choose to share a result, FlipScout opens your device's sharing tools or copies a link. A saved scan can have a shareable link; do not share that link unless you want others to view that result.
